Introduction of type and features
The Nissan Serena is a people mover, It is also sold as the Suzuki Landy. There are petrol and hybrid both with 2L engines. There are nearly 300 Serena listed on Trade me motors. However, the ESC is equipped from the C26 model deviewed in 2010. The latest model is the C27 in 2022. Serena is the one of few Nissan to be used as a wheelchair accessible car. So you can imagine that Serena is a well reputed Nissan car in New Zealand.

- Wheelchair cab lift/hoist type
is 5 passengers + 1 wheelchair and the maximum loading capacity is 170kg. The lift/hoist operation to up and down is the same with Hiace welcab. The passenger seat can slide and move forward for a wheelchair user to stretch their legs. It is more spacious than it looks.

- Wheelchair cab slope/ramp type
makes it available to get on and off with a wheelchair as same as the Wheelchair cab lift/hoist type. The withstand loading capacity is 200kg. The automated winch model has an adjustable rear suspension that gets 80mm lower to the ground and a winch line pull is 120kg.

- Rear passenger sliding lift up seat
is a fully automated electric seat that assists you to get on and off the car.
the seat slides out and gets down to the height of your wheelchair. Your caregiver can operate easily and safely by remote control. Maximum loading capacity is 100kg, The aperture height is 1000 mm and foot space is 380mm. This model is for a person who can stand and shift but needs a bit of support for getting on/off the car.

- Front passenger sliding lift up seat
is the same functions as a Rear passenger sliding lift up seat and different dimensions and angles of the seat. a baby/child seat is not able to attach to both types of seat.
- Transporter / Auto-step
is an 8 seater transporter coach with an automated step and sliding door. When the sliding door opens then a step will come out automatically. There are orange safety glips to help when you get on and off the car. The step is 190mm high, 450mm wide and the depth is 200mm.
- Transporter / Long-step
is 1620mm long, 205mm high and the depth is 155mm compared to Transporter / Auto-step. Front and Rear passengers can use it at the same time.
As described in the introduction, these two models of Serena ( C26 and C27 ) have ESC equipped which means they can be imported and registered in New Zealand.

C27 is yet not many in New Zealand. The price is still high in Japan and Nissan NZ does not sell this model, therefore C26 Serena is considered as the affordable model for New Zealand.
